2014 ICF Global Consumer Awareness Study

When asked why they decided to work with a coach, the most common reason both Globally and within the US was to optimize individual / team performance at 42% and 55% respectively. In the US, this was followed by those wanting to expand professional career opportunities; Improve business management strategies and manage work/life balance.

While responses from other Global participants tracked close to these, the main difference was in those wanting to increase     self-esteem /self-confidence with those outside the US ranking this higher than managing work / life balance.

This robust research was conducted independently by the International Survey Unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  Available in 16 languages, the survey was administered to 18,810 individuals representing 25 countries.  The countries selected for this study each had a major concentration of ICF members.
